Poets and spoken word artists come out every third Thursday for the Poetry Slam open mic event at Art and Soul by Phoebe Gallery in downtown Muncie. This month's poetry slam will be on Thursday, August 19. Poets are encouraged to sign up for a 15-minute slot.

The downtown gallery, located at 409 South Walnut Street, hosts the Poetry Slam every third Thursday from 7 to 9 pm. Light refreshments will be served; please bring your own beverage. Gallery donations are appreciated!

The "Third Thursday Poetry Slam" is one of many arts-focused events happening at downtown Muncie's newest gallery. Musicians, actors, comedians and performance artists are welcome to come out for the "Act Out! Performance Night" open mic event on the second Tuesday of each month.
